Our Commitment to Accessibility

Mendocino Mermaids is an all-volunteer nonprofit, and we want everyone to be able to shop, donate, and connect with us online. We are working to make mendocinomermaids.org usable by people of all abilities, including those who use screen readers, keyboards, or other assistive technology.

What We're Doing

We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We review our site with automated tools and keyboard checks, and we fix issues as we find them. Recent improvements include a skip-to-content link, clearer focus outlines, labeled buttons and links, improved color contrast, and the ability to zoom on mobile devices.

Known Limitations

We are a small volunteer team and our site is a work in progress. Some third-party content, such as embedded videos, checkout pages, and partner widgets, is provided by outside companies, and may not be fully accessible yet. Some pages may also have areas we have not yet reviewed.
